Subject: Employment at Another State Agency
POLICY
A university employee may accept employment from another state agency
provided the individual's combined salaries do not exceed the line-item
maximum salary for which the individual is eligible at the primary agency
of employment and provided appropriate approval is given.
PROCEDURES
- The secondary employing agency submits a Concurrent Employment
Request for State approval by preparing the initial part of the form, then
submitting it to the primary employing agency. The primary employing agency
completes the remaining portion of the form, then submits it to the State for
approval.
- The type of position determines where the form is to be submitted
for completion:
- Approval for a
faculty employee
to be employed by another state agency comes through the vice president
for research and academic affairs
office.
- Approval for a
non-faculty
employee to be employed by another
state agency comes through the human
resources office.
- The chief fiscal officer of the Arkansas Department of Finance and
Administration approves the completed Concurrent Employment Request and
notifies both agencies.
