Subject: Refunds - General


POLICY

  1. Any student who officially withdraws from the university during an enrollment period may be entitled to a percentage refund of tuition, room and board, and some fees and deposits, according to guidelines in the undergraduate and graduate catalogs, with the following exceptions:

    1. Graduation fees - However, graduation fees are left on deposit once paid by a student so that each student is assessed this fee only once per degree.

    2. Vehicle registration fees

  2. Any student who officially withdraws from a course but remains enrolled in other courses may be entitled to a tuition refund based on the refund schedule in the general bulletin.

  3. A student is entitled to a full tuition refund if a course is cancelled by the university. Additionally, a student whose course is cancelled and who is registered only for that course, is entitled to a full refund of all other fees or deposits charged in conjunction with that enrollment period.

  4. Students eligible for refunds should contact Student Account Services either by telephone at
    (870) 972-2285 or in person.

PROCEDURES

Refunds - Withdrawal from the university

  1. Students may withdraw by telephone during the telephone registration period. After the close of telephone registration, a student who withdraws from the university must do so through Advisement Services.

  2. Students must request a refund through Student Account Services.

Refunds - Dropping a class

All refunds for dropped classes will be processed after the third week of class. Students may drop classes over the web.

REGULATIONS

General

  1. The student should request a refund by telephone or in person at Student Account Services.

  2. Refunds for withdrawals are based on the date of withdrawal, not class attendance.

  3. Refunds for dropped courses are based on the drop date.

  4. Generally, no refund check is processed until fourteen (14) working days after payment to allow time for the check to clear a financial institution.
  5. Credit card payment refunds are credited back to the card and not refunded to the student.
Refunds - Special Fees
  1. Driver education course refunds are determined by the department.

  2. Center for Regional Programs course refunds are refunded 100% until after the second class day. After the second class day, there is no refund.

  3. Correspondence/Independent Study courses are refunded 100% as long as withdrawal is made within 2 weeks from registration.
